OChain-E Nero Shimano 52mm Chainline – 104 BCD
OChain is a crank spiker that uses elastomers to provide and active feeling in your suspension. After being inspired by the two famous chainless downhill runs from Aaron Gwins winning Leogang WorldCup run to Neko Mulally’s insane ride at World Championships in 2014, the crew that is now OChain looked into what might have helped both riders perform better without a chain. Turns out there is something to having a chainless feel in your suspension. Chainless riding means flowing sensations, absence of pedal kickback, extremely good braking performance and more. It also mean low bike “reactivity”, with a “more travel” feeling and saggy suspension while pumping. From these outcomes, we decided to play with different riding conditions, in order of leaving the freedom to decide how many degrees remove, when needed. OChain now comes with three degree optional setups: 6°, 9°, 12°. OChain active spider can remove or reduce pedal kickback, isolating transmission effects from rear suspension when needed. Coming to the setup possibilities, there is no right or wrong, but a need for a deep comprehension of what makes things flow at their best. OChain is a new component in mountain bike setup. You can decide to use it in its different configurations.
